We're excited to announce a unique opportunity for maritime professionals to participate in our pilot scheme, "Measuring the Efficacy of VR in Maritime Education & Training".

 

This scheme is designed to rigorously assess the effectiveness of virtual reality in enhancing maritime skills and decision-making.

Experience the Advanced VASCO VR Platform: Dive into six tailored sessions featuring realistic maritime scenarios to sharpen your Navigation and Bridge skills.

Measure Your Growth: Start with a baseline assessment and conclude with a detailed analysis of your performance improvements, all through our specialized VR modules.rks for educational technology.

Contribute to Industry Innovation: Your participation will help shape the future of maritime training and establish new benchmarks for educational technology.

Keep the Tools of Innovation: All participants will receive a complimentary Meta Quest 2 headset to continue their journey of learning and exploration.

Who Should Apply?

Maritime officers (C/O, 2/O, or 3/O) who are committed to advancing their careers and embracing new training methods.

​

Successful applicants will be loaded a Meta Quest 2 Headset for the duration of the scheme, which they can retain on completion.

What Does it Involve?

Successful applicants must be able to attend two sessions per week over a three-week period from the week commencing 27 May 2024.

 

Exact session dates are to be confirmed, they will be 0900-1200 or 1400-1700 in the BST time zone.

 

The Scheme Structure is:

Initial Assessment: Gauge your current knowledge with a set of specialized questions.

​

Immersive Training: Participate in detailed VR scenarios as Navigator, Co-Navigator, Helm, and Lookout, receiving real-time feedback and guidance.

​

Final Assessment: Re-assess your skills to measure improvement and receive a comprehensive performance report.
